I have my feet firmly on the ground and am a killjoy.

But, I really enjoyed reading these posts.

When I was a school child, I was extremely shy and unpopular, so I stayed to myself and had as little to do with anyone else as possible. In the third grade, there was a girl in my class who had a little sister who was in the first grade who was crippled. The younger sister wore braces on her legs and frequently fell down while walking around on the playground.

One day, I saw her fall, just crumpling into a heap and laying there. A voice said to me, "Pick her up." I thought it was an angel or God, and if God tells you to do something you must do it. So, I overcame my social phobia long enough to walk over and lift the smaller child to her feet.

Then her older sister came over and screamed at me for helping her, because she was supposed to be left to get herself up. I didn't say anything or try to explain, I just turned and walked away.

Another time, when I was a young child, I saw an apparition floating along outside our house, just a few feet off the ground.

I figure both events can be explained away as misfires of neurons in an immature brain. On the other hand, I thought it was fun to eat the morning glories that grew wild. (Very wierd kid.) Just the same, both events were cool.
