I was incredibly skeptical when I saw the wild horse one on the tv. I think I saw it a few months ago, maybe even a year ago now. I kept watching and thinking...ok, this is going way too smoothly. It's possible to "gentle" a horse fairly quickly, but if this horse were truly wild I think that it would have been much more cautious and nervous about the dude being there, let alone trying to halter and ride it. Seemed too scripted and planned. Of course, maybe it was. I hate to think that Bear Grylls is advocating that if you are lost somewhere and see a wild horse, well then jump on it and ride it to safety! Because we all know what would happen if someone tried that IRL. I wouldn't even jump on a handled-but-unbroke horse and just try to ride off with it.

It was an amusing video though.

ETA: I guess he did say that they could have broken free from a ranch. But if I were to stumble upon horses in the wild, I wouldn't want to take the chance that they might have been handled before, lol. Just in case.
