Yeah but if you get a mac you don't get viruses and you don't need any virus software and they do honour their warranty. I dropped my laptop and got the screen replaced and the dvd/cd drive replaced, the dogs as pups ate through my charger I had that replaced 6 times, do not lend your mac to parents who let pups eat chargers! I've had a replacement battery after I broke it oh and after a year I dropped my Macbook Pro and killed it and got a brand new one that had only been out a few days. I've terribly clumsy and manage to break things and I've never had a problem with Apple replacing anything.
More and more is becoming available on macs, yes you can put windows on it but I don't understand why you'd want to do that. I don't have word I have Pages. Yes they are more expensive but you get what you pay for at the end of the day. How many people are having problems with vista but microshaft just ignore them. My sister bought a shista laptop and it is horrific it doesn't work at all.
I'll probably get bashed but I had pcs for years and hated macs until one day I spent £1500 on a pc that was awful never worked and the shop wouldn't take it back so I mailed it to them and they had to sign for it and then I got a refund. I spent £400 and got a Macbook off ebay and it worked perfectly, I now have a Macbook Pro and would never touch a pc with a barge pole again. As soon as a new MBP comes out I'll give this one to my sister and get the new one.
Another thing with macs is that when they do new operating systems they just go on you don't need a million upgrades or crap like vista.
