Bob is a cribber. I dont put a collar on him. It makes him mad, and he cribs more when he is mad.

Make sure he is UTD on floating, plenty of turnout in larger pasture preferably, keep him on free choice hay to keep him busy and happy, put up a string of electric on the top board of the fencing, spray wraplast on his favourite spots. You could also pull blood to see if he is missing anything in his diet, or ask the vet about possible stomach problems that are causing his cribbing. There are feed through supps for cribbing, but Ive never tried them.

It is possible to overtighten collars.
