Re the big dressage horses, yes it is annoying that they give the big ones the marks. I used to ride my 15.2 hand TB dressage. We did reasonably well, usually low to mid 60% and I even won a year end champion and reserve champion for the province the year I put the effort in. I found that while he didn't have the biggest movement I did quite well by being extremely accurate. There are a lot of marks you can get for doing the transition accurately. Have you ridden dressage much? I do know the tests have changed quite a bit since I was competing. My hint is shorten him a bit before you go into any of the extended moves...........makes it look bigger than it is :P

At 5'1" you'll probably look very balanced on him. You'd look silly on some 16.2 hand brute. LOL
