Hey ... maybe she had a bad back and just couldn't ride or handle him anymore!!!

Some of the Morgan show folks, just like some of the Arab show folks, like them to behave all hot and firey. They like them to almost look like fire breathing dragons when they are doing anything with them. So her handling techniques might be the halter type stuff you see in the Arabian ring.

I will say this and I'm not picking on you so please don't take it that way. I'm glad it went well, but it could have gone badly. The horse didn't even have time to settle in to the new place. In my opinion, and I may be alone here, it's pushing the envelope a bit to ask so much the very next day after his arrival. If it had gone badly it may not have been a reflection of him but rather his fear of a new place, new people etc.

I really wish people would let animals settle in for some time before they "tried" things with them. I've sold a few ponies and within days of their arrival in a new place gotten concerned phone calls about "odd" behavior. I always say "geez can ya give the poor thing a minute to settle in??". They do and the ponies are fine!

Now I'm not talking about old campaigners. They should obviously handle new places easily. But a horse that's had nothing done in years and basically has never left a property does need time to settle in before he can be expected to show his true personality good OR bad.

Good luck with him, he's quite cute!
