Said girl was quickly lent a hairnet and the incident was hushed. Show bows are not appropriate hunter attire, they look sloppy and were NOT created for hunters, but dressage, I believe (correct me if I'm wrong, but they definitly weren't created for hunters). Show bows have nothing to do with latest fashions, really, just what is appropriate for shows. I was talking more about the fact, that you are constantly telling people who want to dabble just in hunter/jumper schooling shows, that they NEED or MUST have the best of everything. And not everyone lives where you live Here, it is quite common to see show bows at schooling shows. There were 4 or 5 girls with them at the show I went to last weekend, and all three consistantly placed in the top 6. Some people find them convient and time saving, and that matters more at a schooling show than some big A circuit show where the rider just has to make themself look good, and have a groom to worry about their horse. The judge really doesn't care what the riders are wearing, it's just the snotty little brats . Around here, if you laughed at someone for not wearing the 'right' thing, you'd be the one looking like a fool.
There is something about jumping a horse over a fence, something that makes you feel good. Perhaps it's the risk, the gamble. In any event it's a thing I need. TTL; two years and many more. <3
