I ride in hairnets, and I event.

It's not just convenience (less grime on my neck, it's cooler, less a chance of things getting loose in my eyes) but it's an appearance. I ride for a barn, and a college - and when I show, it's not just "Elle and Eagle", but "Elle and Eagle from the University of Findlay". That carries weight. I will present myself as professionally as I am able, and if that means wearing a hairnet, wiping off (gasp, yes, the BOTTOM!) my boots after I get on, ect, then yes, I will be doing it.

It's not so much of snobbery to me, as image. I represent my school, which is one of the best in the nationally (And internationally) when it comes to H/J. I will present myself as well as I am able, because my image reflects upon my school, and I would love to be accredited with, some day, some little girl seeing me ride and saying "Oooh, I want to go there to ride!"
