I think everyone here would agree that if she has stood up and said "I made an error, a horse died because of that. I must live with this. Don't make the same mistake as me" (AND MEANT IT) she'd have ended up a little less humiliated, and a lot less hated.

Instead, from what I can tell, she just kept digging a hole. The sort of person who makes that kind of mistake and blames the horse isn't the sort of learn easily from their mistakes either.

^^^ Sam Lyle (I believe) at Adelaide, not sure who the horse was. I don't believe they were killed or seriously injured...a) never heard it mentioned b) the horsey website I stole this from wouldn't want it on their welcoming page.
