Okay, I personally know Laine and there's a TON of fodder on COTH about the situation. Go read it all. She and her mother are bat shit crazy, period.
Now, about this horse, this is EXACTLY what we train for. The rider came in a little too fast to the combo, which by the way, is made by the crappiest course designer in the area, in my opinion. I refuse to go to her events and one is like 10 minutes from my house. And believe me, I make a stink about it.
We train our horses to have a fifth leg in case things go awry and the number 1 priority is to keep the feet moving. And this horse and rider did exactly that. And he doesn't need to work more w/o stirrups, silly, he hung on through drops and water and angled fences out. You try that sometime, he did fine, albeit unstylish.
Oh yeah, sent the vid plus the guy's website to my instructor who has a student looking for an ULH. This one is for sale and after this video, the price probably went up! Horse recovered perfectly with ears pricked. He went, 'yup, screwed up the first one, just keep going, I got it! Let's go!' Perfect x-c horse considering how young and green he is. I would love to see someone buy him, put a bit more mileage on him at prelim, then move him up.
Some of these riders slam a horse up the levels in order to get bigger bucks. I don't know this guy but that's what he did. That part I don't approve of.

Average, for horses with some experience at this level
