I mostly think he's trading on the Native American mystique thing.

I have heard he's really from New Jersey, his real name is Kevin, and he never touched horses until fairly late in life... not that there's anything wrong with that.

From what I have seen at demos/expos, he doesn't really do a whole lot- comparing him to other "NH" style gurus, I don't think he offers as much "meat"- his stuff is more simplistic, less in depth, etc. Don't think it's anything special, or any big indian secret handed down from generation to generation, just basic common sense. Although I haven't seen him do enough to really decide if he's got that going for him.

The book "Of Women and Horses," though, is quite beautiful, if you skip his hokey commentary.
