It's SO WEIRD...he'll actually shed that "feather" out in the spring, and be a regular old normal bay with black points! I have no idea what the deal is with the cream-colored hair on his lower legs. There isn't a light hair to be found on him in the summer...black from halfway down the cannon bone right to his foot! Thank you! He looks a little short-legged to me too. But since I am only 5' tall myself (on a low-gravity day) I am choosing to see this as a feature, not a flaw. ;-)

ETA: Proof of the summertime black legs. Sorry about the awful picture...he was shaking flies off. As you can see, though, no blond hairs on his legs at all once he's summer-smooth. So strange. Also, that pale fluff makes his legs look a little strange...almost like they're bowed back? But they're very straight, as hopefully you can see in the picture just above.
