Just s I wouldn't like my horse to come lay down when I'm sleeping, I tend to just let my beasts rest and not disturb them when they are sleeping. They need all the beauty sleep they can get.

When my guy was young, I'd bring him out of the pasture and handgraze him. A lot of times he'd just lay down and go to sleep. I'd sit with him and pet him & scratch him (on the "back" side). When he got older, I'd sit on his shoulder and scratch him. His whole life, he wasn't ever bothered by me coming up to him when he was laying down.

My filly, from the time she was first born, would lay down and put her head in my lap to sleep while I stroked her head. She was a love.
