How is it going?

Beautifully.

She had two weeks off thanks to my college exam schedule and winter break, so this was the first time I've had to really try your suggestions.

I chased her around the indoor arena before I rode to burn off some of her excess energy. Between that and singing almost constantly in time with her movement, there was not a single spook, even at the car alarm that went off right outside the arena. Even normally scary objects didn't merit a look.

It's as simple as that; when I relax (and thanks to the singing/breathing to sing, I could feel my entire spine relaxing), she relaxes. She's one of those horses who is intelligent and sensitive enough to read her rider like a book.
