Nothing specific or that I've actually caught people out on - but I always find it a little suspicious when people post about some 'crisis' or other, and then take the opportunity to wax philosophical about it online, during the event, instead of actually planning to do something concrete. In my experience when people are actually experiencing a crisis they're occupied with that, not posting their own philosophical and moral musings online! Afterward, maybe, but not during.

Maybe not the level of crisis you're talking about, but while my paint mare was dying of colic, my parents forced me into the house on a few occasions to take a break from the vigil I had set up... each time, I came in and reported on a thread on a forum that I had been a member of for years that were Angel's unofficial fanclub... it went from "My horse sucks, she's colicky" to "I can't believe my earth Angel is gone" in eight hours, so there was a bit of a running commentary there, but completely 100% true. I can still pinpoint the exact moment that I realized that she wasn't just colicky but that she was, indeed, going to die.
