Can you reformat your references and hand in the paper again? I mean, partial credit for lateness is better than no credit at all. Can you explain to your teachers what happened and that you spent the night in ER? I'm in college now and most of my profs would be understanding and at least grant me a day or two extra. I know, b/c I was REALLY sick (I think I got salmonella or something like that) last winter and I had to make up two exams and hand in a paper late, and everybody was really understanding about it, and I didn't even go to the hospital.

If your employer chooses your ex over you, than it's their loss. Eventually he'll show his true colors and they'll be out two employees. Or he might be a good worker and a shitty person but they'll never see it. Oh well. It's tough to go on hearsay when you don't really know people personally.

Talk to SOMEONE at school. You profs, a counselor, anyone. You might qualify for financial aide. You might be able to get a job with the university. Just go in and explain. Something along the lines of, "I'm so overwhelmed right now and I don't know what to do." Then explain. The school SHOULD (if they're any good) be willing to work with you if you're willing to work with them. It might be a lot of effort to make up your work, but if you're willing to put in the extra effort, you should be rewarded accordingly.
