I've met some really lazy, laid back TB's. And like I said, TB's that did trail patterns, western pleasure... and lots who ran barrels. I never discount a horse because of breed. Just cause they have not done something, doesn't mean they couldn't. A little schooling, on a well schooled horse can go a long way. If I search again, I'll keep in mind the "western type", though. GamblersChance wrote: Hm... A TB may be a little hot for Tom plus he's all western He's about 6'2" and 235 -245 and athletic (he's a martial arts instructor). He has a great sense of balance and since we just argue if I try to teach him, he takes lessons with my reining instructor. He's doing great and can w/t/lope with quiet hands and legs. He can turn on the haunches , back, and he's starting to learn how to spin. He really isn't too into reining, and he wants more of a WP / Trail horse to ride. He has considered showing WP so I'd like something thats able to do local non rated stuff. He really just wants something fun (non bucky and non spooky would be a plus) I want to have him try out a gaited horse, as I hear the "OH MY NUTS" if the horse gets choppy (hehe) I tell him to sit back but he's learning the hard way. He doesn't like how they "look" - ugh. So maybe once he rides one he'll switch over He really likes draftx's QH's, paints, appys, etc... more stock breeds. I'd LOVE a haffy but I think he'd be dragging his feet on the ground!
