PPM has a prayer list.
And I am sending good thoughts and wishes for strength to you and your father.

Neuropathy is terrible. Is he receiving appropriate meds like tri-cyclics and Neurontin to deal with the pain?

And... I don't mean this in a negative way at all... but have you, your family, and your father spoken to someone from a hospice? Good hospices are experts in palliative (pain relief) care. Not that your family has to make any decisions now, or even soon, but we've had both wonderful and terrible hospice experiences in our family. In the best case, the patient makes the decision about when they are ready to let go, and is pain-free and surrounded by loved ones during a peaceful end. If you can have arrangements in place, that will make things less stressful and painful if your father takes a turn for the worse, and will perhaps make you feel less helpless now. They may also have some ideas about appropriate pain treatments for your father right now. I hope this is helpful.
