You're right, BFF - my dad was a commercial trucker for most of my childhood - it still burns his ass when people go on about how truckers "aren't safe" and they always do things "illegal" -- truckers have more accidents because they are on the road a considerable percentage more of their daily lives than a regular driver - it's not because they drive too long of hours or because they doctor their logbooks. It's just common math - if you put yourself in a situation more frequently, the opportunity for an accident to occur is that percentage higher... not because of anything you do, but simply because you're THERE. That's the first thing people automatically assume when a trucker is in an accident - over hours on his logbook... I have never heard the popular media discuss the "suicide jockeys" that truckers run into, people trying to outrun bigrigs, assuming because there are more wheels on the ground, they can stop faster, etc.

(Anyways, now that that is out of my system!)

The reason *I* don't want to ride the Greyhound *in Canada* is because of that guy who beheaded a complete stranger on a Greyhound last year!
