^ Oh, I agree with you. Really, I don't fault people for breeding a "keeper" from a favorite mare (since I did, it would be sort of hypocritical).

The "permission" comment REALLY irked me, but probably I was too harsh.

No the criticism from me had a lot more to do with the fact that people didn't look at ANYTHING but the picture and were telling this person in a very definitive tone exactly what to breed. I might have asked: "what type of horse do you like to ride?" or "what type of horse do you dream of owning?" or something to establish a goal, then suggest stallions from that. I also wouldn't IMMEDIATELY suggest a stallion owned by a forum member, for color alone. This lady seems to want a warmblood type (hence the Friesian, and the cremello she liked)...not a random QH cross.

I also would have pointed her to some breeding resources, since she's obviously new, and couseled her to choose very carefully!

Nope, instead, as usual, she's been misled into thinking she's talking to experts, experts who have her best interests at heart.
