TRD, whats with the comment that Vets arent always right??
If you have a vet you trust, you follow their advice. If you dont, you get a different vet.

I have seen a few horses with the injury you are talking about, and neither of them went on to be able to compete in the show ring. Two of them were barrel racing horses and they were to flighty to even become good kids horses.

I think it just really depends on the work load you are going to expect from the horse. I wish you well. You will learn what he can handle and what he cant.
