OK, here it is in a NUTSHELL...

Some of you have tried the HALF-TAP which is turning your horse's head around the near-side and just hold it there..
If your horse got SLEEPY congratulations, you just graduated ...

The FULL-Tap the easy way,

You can do the HALF-TAP and wait till your horse lies down but you WILL need to eat a can of SPINICH because your arm will go dead. You can change arms if you want but your if your horse is Zonked like it should be, you will be "TAPPED" before the horse.

While holding the horse's head, you can lead on your horse's shoulder to shift some weight on the off-side leg which will speed the whole process up much faster or you could do this...

Turn your horse's head around to the off-side and hold it.

This is the easiest way because your arm won't get tired and you can pull the horse's weight onto the near-leg which is much easier than pushing the other way. Just two points..

1) Have about 80% pressure holding the off-side rein and about 20% on the near-side just to hold the bit into place without sliding through.

2) When you turn your horse's head around to the off-side, they will probably step out with the near-side leg to balance better, so watch for your feet.

As they sink down keep the hold until they are sitting down then you can let go, once they are sitting down they should just sit there for bit because it's easier than trying to stay up with endorphins or adrenaline or both present in the bloodstream. They ALL sit down, they have to...

This is why I believe they attack the twitch , because they sense their energy being drained and panic. I tried this once, for my own research I twitch a horse past the BLOW-POINT to see if I was right about my theory, the result being the horse broke into a sweat and his breathing got heavier and he BLEW a second time only to basically callapsed after I pushed him with my index finger.

The fact that the horse got hot, leans towards the adreneline burning up the horse's energy, but then again he was sleepy before that happened which leans towards the endorphins, or is it both ? Maybe the adrenaline was working from the time I turned the horse's head but the endorphins kicked in having a blanketing effect, I don't know at this stage but I am working on finding some answers..

No-one really knows why horse's BLOW but, now I think we are getting close to finding out..

Fact: Turning the horse's head to either side will make SLEEPY and then SIT or LIE down to rest..
