What I have done is get a cheap pair from wally world that has the guards, and use them on my regular andis clipper. That is how my above gelding ended up fully clipped. I clipped with the guard, was about halfway done, and cleaned the hair off, and went back to clipping, and did a path down the neck without the guard. I went oh shit, tried to blend it, clipped half the neck, thought, that looks stupid so I clipped the other half and left the body long, and then came back the next day and just clipped him all over. I REALLY didn't want to fully clip him, I had just gotten him off the track and was trying to put weight on him. Should have taken a pic of just the neck shaved, it was definately unique.
