Cloning is an interesting issue. I personally believe it's one of those "too much" investments of science. I can see the purpose, but the purpose makes me uncomfortable.

If it's organ creation, that makes me nervous. Using them for nature/nurture studies, same thing.

If it's for sentimental reasons...well, there are reasons any of us only live a lifetime, yes? Would any of the great writers be as great with clones running around?

I had a cat that I once seriously thought about cloning. She was everything to me. But she also had a severe disorder that required harsh medication/euthanasia. The likelihood of cloning that would be high. The likelihood of her being the same would be low.

Cloning's just odd, and distressing, ethically.
