Science Diet is a very poor food. Nutro isn't very good either (though it IS better than science diet). Dogs are carnivores, they are not meant to consume grains. Their digestive system has not changed with domestication. If they were omnivores, they would have molars to grind plant matter. Carbohydrates put weight on cats and dogs, its the biggest cause of diabetes in cats. I would switch to a high protein low or no grain food. Protein digests slower and leaves the dog full longer than carbs which quickly turn into sugar. You would also feed less food when feeding a nutritionally dense food, so don't get scared by the increase of price per bag. Some grain free foods would be Wellness Core, Innova Evo, Natures Variety Raw Instinct. I know theres at least 1 more but I can't remember. When looking at low grain foods, count the number of grain products listed. Also look at where in the ingredient list they are. The ingredients are in the order of most to last. I would look for a food without grains in the first 3 ingredients. Whole grains are better than split grains. So brown rice and barley are better than white rice or wheat. Avoid corn. Also, avoid BHA, BHT and ethoxyquin which are preservatives shown to cause cancer (at least one of those is used by Science Diet).
A highly digestible kibble may make the stool look like a raw fed dogs stool but thats not the best part lol. Raw fed stool turns white quickly and crumbles into dust. No more collecting dog poop from the yard. No more worries of stepping in dog poop, just tap off the dust
Before you criticize someone walk a mile in their shoes. That way you'll be a mile from them, and you'll have their shoes.
