LOL- I have a gentleman. He is super loving to all his friends- human, horse, dog, cat, whatever. He goes and grooms Eianna while she grazes, loves on her constantly (or until she gets pissy and runs him off) but he's the easiest thing on earth to handle regardless of where he is. I have video proof (if I can ever get my camera hooked up to the pc) that he'll turn away from a mare who is BEGGING to be bred and walk off on a loose lead. It helps that he seems to think she's the horse equivalent of Barbie- okay to look at and all, but nothing but air upstairs. She's come into heat twice- and he's ignored her both times.

Something I've noticed about the really hormonal studs- they seem to be the ones kept in isolation who never get normal herd interaction. Even before our "oopsie" with Eianna and the arrival of the PB mare I'm breeding for myself, I always put my guy out with the geldings. He had never been allowed to do that before- and he loves it. He's so relaxed, happy and sweet when he has company, I keep wondering if all the barns I worked at where the studs were right pricks had anything to do with their turnout situation.
