Lin, you and I are insanely alike, both vegatarians, both raw feeders, both horse people, same genetic disease, jeeze. HAHA I have my cat on raw, but I do a premixed food. Its called Aunt Jeni's. He gets beef, rabbit, turkey, and chicken, as well as a bit of whole salmon and fish oils. His health has improved a ton since he was on a cheap commercial dry food at my parents. The stuff is ground muscle meat, bones, and organs, with 10-15 percent "others" fruits, vegiies, eggs, even nuts. I love the stuff, and so does Marbles.
anyJackie they make dog food too. For a 15 lb terrier you would feed about 6 ounces a day. Its really rich and you could easily cut him back. the dog food is 65% meat and 35% other, completely grain free. Its about 5$ a pound, and at 6 ounces comes out o $1.87 a day or about $58 a month. There are a bunch of other good brands too, I just like this one becasue they garuntee all the meat that goes into it to be certified organic or cruelty free. The cruelty free thing means alot to me and my belief system
I couldn't handle making it myself, I don't have the time, energy, or stomach, lol
