I disagree that ZPB was long backed. His back length from the highest point of his withers to the point his back hinged with his pelvis is the same length as his neck from the shoulder to his eye. That is Computer Horse Breeders style measurment. Form to Function. Some horses have more length than others...that doesn't make either horse not capable. As long as they balance with the rest of their body, length won't affect their ability up to a point. That point being if the length or lack of length is extreme. The other point that it begins to affect ability is when the parts don't match. Their form becomes unbalanced...put together by a committee. :eek

I would rather breed a flawed horse that is sound and able to do his job than a horse that appears "perfect" but isn't an athlete. What have you gained by having a pretty horse that can't do anything? :(
