And somehow you conveniently missed the part where I said "and I'm talking about the kind of skills required for an ideal Quarter Horse which are the reason the breed was created in the first place"

Do you seriously believe old ranchers were looking for good fence jumpers when they started their breeding programs? never wondered why short cannon bones is supposed to be a good thing on Quarter Horses?

I love to go watch a good cutting competition or a reining futurity. Love it, love it, love it. Wish I was younger and had more money, I'd be right out there with them. But I'm not and I don't so I choose to do WP or trail. Who are you to say my horse isn't an athlete? Were you standing there in the arena all the countless hours my horse was being loped into a fence at a 45 degree angle and then turned 90 degrees to help build the muscle and motor he would need to get that deep collected lope required to be competitive. I don't remember seeing you there. Hey, there is nothing wrong with the old foundation quarterhorse lines and nothing wrong with wanting to preserve them. That is what the foundation registry and club is there to do. But on the other hand, there is nothing wrong with my side of the fence. The grass is green here to.
