Well the first app is 3/4 appaloosa - not a ton of QH influence there.
I guess with your way of thinking, we should just get rid of everything but the arabs because every other horse is an cross from them. So we have really just insulted the arabian horse registry and it all went down hill from there.

And when have I EVER said that only foundation bred appaloosas should be called Appaloosas? Do I need to go quote myself about how I think Apps could benefit from outcrossing? And yes those horses all have Appaloosa in them, but just because the breed on the papers says Appaloosa, it doesn't always mean much. Just look at Gay Bars Silver, only 2 horses in his 3rd generation pedigree are Appaloosa, making him only 1/4 Appy. Zips Dark Chocolate has, at most, 4 Apps in his 3rd generation, making him no more than 1/2 App.

And look at them. Look at the Phenotype of those horses. What about the breeding programs that produced those horses do you think was actually working to make a great Appaloosa horse? A horse that was meant to run long distances. They were breeding for A Quarter Horse with spots and that's exactly what they got. It's not a bad thing to breed nicely put together, brightly spotted Quarter Horses. It's a bad thing to try so hard to erase what could be (and was) a perfectly capable type of horse.

I'm going to assume you couldn't find anything about them that separates them from being Quarter Horses (ignoring color)?
