I read the articles that FtFotB posted. What I got out of them was that all of today's halter and performance horses are trash simply because THEY CANNOT RUN A LICK.

Regardless of how much "speed blood" they have..... if they can't use that speed, they are worthless. Speed blood DOES NOT equal crawling along the rail in a pleasure class.

I also find the mention about Doc Bar being a racehorse laughable. Like Impressive, he may have been race bred... but he sure couldn't run so if you add that fact with what the articles from 1948 and 1948 are saying... both Doc Bar and Impressive are trash since they couldn't run. And I am also pretty darn sure that Scoop Vessels doesn't have any Doc Bar blood in his brrodmare band, lol!

So those articles form the late 40's totally contradict what the more recent ones are saying with regard to what "speed blood" is.

THANKYOU!!
Both Doc Bar, and Impressive were culls from the race horse industry. A horse that is bred to run but cant run a lick does not make him a race horse. A race horse, is a horse that CAN run! Performance is THE deciding factor.
