I think Appaloosas should look like Appaloosas, regardless of spots. Which is exactly what I have said, over and over and over and over again.

That doesn't give me a picture in my head of what your ideal appaloosa is? Please post a pic and remember - don't let it resemble any other existing breed.. LOL

lol I ask again, are you blind to I've been posting this whole time? Here I'll put some of them back up. They may not be perfect, but they're some of the best examples of what Appy type is that I have managed to find.

And As much as I like JG Appaloosas, I think a lot of their stock tends to look like a spotted TB, and some others tend to look like spotted warmbloods. Now they RESEMBLE lots of breeds. TB, Warmbloods, Andalusians...but looking at them collectively they just look like appaloosas. Line them up and sure, they'll resemble other breeds, but as you already pointed out, a well balanced horse is a well balanced horse.

Some key things I'm looking for: Solid legs, rounded hindquarters, arched neck that is well set, profile that is straight to slightly convex. I want to look at that horse and think balanced enough for dressage, but capable of carrying itself and rider over a long distance, I don't want to see the bulkier muscling build of a sprinter, but something that leans more towards distance running. There are other things I'd look for as well, but they just don't show well in pictures.

All right, lets see your ideal Appaloosa.
