And As much as I like JG Appaloosas, I think a lot of their stock tends to look like a spotted TB, and some others tend to look like spotted warmbloods. Now they RESEMBLE lots of breeds. TB, Warmbloods, Andalusians...but looking at them collectively they just look like appaloosas. Line them up and sure, they'll resemble other breeds, but as you already pointed out, a well balanced horse is a well balanced horse. Goody goody, at least I don't feel like I'm completely off track from where you are


Some key things I'm looking for: Solid legs, rounded hindquarters, arched neck that is well set, profile that is straight to slightly convex. I want to look at that horse and think balanced enough for dressage, but capable of carrying itself and rider over a long distance, I don't want to see the bulkier muscling build of a sprinter, but something that leans more towards distance running. There are other things I'd look for as well, but they just don't show well in pictures.
