Though I find it strange that you would spend so much time arguing with me about a breed you don't think exists outside of it's markings. It's no wonder you couldn't find any way to differentiate between a Quarter Horse and an Appaloosa because you don't think Appaloosas have any actual breed characteristics.

I have asked you repeatedly to cite these characteristics you claim all apps should have (other than coat patterns) and the photos you posted all look different - they are all conformationally different. The only thing they have in common are their spots. So I guess you are quilty of exactly what you are accusing me of.

You haven't asked me to site anything until now.

Here, I suggest you check out this site link it's got some good information about Appaloosa history and some descriptions of them being known for elegance, speed, endurance, intelligence, and toughness. It talks about the way they were described as being as "resemble in fleetness and bottom, as well as in form and color, the best blooded horses of Virginia." From those descriptions and knowing that the base-stock that the Nez Perce would have had to work with would have been horses lost by the Spanish settlers (Spanish mustangs pretty much) and looking at pictures of horses who have very high percentages of Nez Perce Horse blood, it makes sense that they would be a Thoroughbredy horse with Spanish Characteristics. Some of the horses that were straight-up Nez Perce blood ( I'm thinking Knobby here) aren't so pretty compared with a lot of horses today, which is why I like the idea of using other breeds to add some beauty to their characteristics.
