I can't say that I'm an eventer now, but I'm easing into the discipline. My trainer/instructor is an eventing one and she comes to the barn (which is a go-as-you-please facility). I typically have one lesson a week and ride during the week on my own, although this winter hasn't been a good one for the inbetween rides. My horse is a greenie - 5 yrs this year, and we've been with her for a good 8-ish months. The environment is low key, we've been working solely on gaits and suppleness - mostly dressage geared. While jumping at this point in time sounds fun, I'm going for commands, response, and lots of solo trail riding. Once we're listening really well to each other, the jumping will be no prob!
