I am really sorry about your cat. That must be really hard, seeing as she was healthy.

I finally was able to get my own kitten and keep him at the barn. (He was born at another barn, I picked him out and he came to my barn) His name is Dobby. I got him fixed and all his shots are done, he has NOT been the easiest keeper as far as barn cats go, but he made it through his sicknesses and his "suicide" days (he used to climb under and into cars). He has the most personality of any cat I have come across and loves people, he has become the barn mascot.
I ALWAYS worry about him though. He never ventures into the fields, but there are hawks around and every child that comes loves him. Anytime I see a kid carrying him, I get real nervous. Some of them love to put him in the parents cars and such... I flip out! I know the parents would object... but you never know.
