I personally ride in half-chaps and paddock boots, but I've been lusting after full chaps ever since I saw a trainer riding in some several years ago. And, of course, hanging out with all the western riders in their chinks and chaps probably didn't help.

as far as I can tell, all the English riders I knew always called them chaps like chapstick, and the western riders called the chaps with a sh sound. those who rode both varied depending on who they were talking to and which style they were talking about.
