Most likely because of their pocket book? The stud fee, plus mare care & vet care to be sure she took, plus getting her there & having all the health papers, on a $500.00 stud fee, you will be out nearly $1,000.00 if she takes the first time. You can find some really great bred young stallions in the $500.00 range & if matched up right with your mare, you will have as good a chance as with the more expensive stallions. I'd rather invest more money in a great mare than in a great stallion. (jmho).

Plus I don't have the money it takes to gamble that big & lose.<grin>
