Of course you could. It's just that I, personally, haven't seen as many "show" barns that bother going to shows with absolute crap.

Crap is everywhere. I think it is very dangerous to assume that a horse is quality just because it comes out of a big-name barn. :)

I haven't fixated on FQH, really, but the thread is about them so that's what I used in my examples. You can bet your butt that there are loads of crummy Arabian breeders too, and TB breeders...any popular breed is going to attract the good and the bad.

If you missed the fact that everyone here advocates quality breeding in general, INCLUDING me, then you can't read. That the ONLY thing I advocate.

If people really cared about quality animals, I don't think they would be so hung up on the FQHs. How convenient that all of the crap QHs are found in this group, right? It is not that simple. Being a discriminating horseman means recognizing the many superior FQHs, but on this BB I don't think it's very popular to do so! Instead we bash the FQHs and fantasize about how much better things would be if we only added more TB blood.

It just makes me extra mad when people try to sell crummy horses as "family" horses, because those are the horses that need to be of very HIGH quality...last through all the kids, be eminently trainable and patient, etc.
I agree!! :D
