One of my students just recently bought a purebred Fjord and he is a little Go-Getter. He packs around his novice owner like a total babysitter, but can be rather wily when I ride him. He's 14.1, and goes fox hunting, does hunter paces, has been jumped 4 ft (prior owner) and does lower level dressage - he loves the jumping better than anything, is amazingly agile, and has the cutest form over jumps. (see: http://flickr.com/photos/eajr/2377270991/). I can certainly see the TB influence in your boy, but he's not that different conformationally from our little guy (particularly they both have smaller motors)
, but I can only imagine he'd do well over fences, particularly since you said he enjoys it. (BTW- I showed a palomino QH with an itty bitty stride in a snobby circuit and did fairly well in Eq, various hunter and medals classes - my experiences were split whether the judges could look past the color and breed to see the actual ride - lost to many bay WBs)
I know there is a woman named Jolanda Adelarr who has a Fjord named Guusje that competes in Grand Prix level dressage with him (check out some of the dressage pictures at http://www.superguus.com/menuenglish.html) - so don't let his thicker throat latch and short neck turn you away from pursuing dressage!
If he has inherited the grand passion for life that the Fjords seem to have, I think you can't go wrong pursuing any and *many* disciplines with him - ours loves variety, and that seems to be the trend with your cowsorting guy as well. Go have fun!!
Edit: he's adorable w/o that coat! I'll have to find one like that for me!
