A trainer (not mine) at another boarding stable was a bitch to me and my mare b/c she hated Appaloosas. Every tiny little thing my horse did wrong she'd use an an excuse to huff "that's why I hate Appys" or "so typical of an Appy". She talked behind my back about about how horrible my horse was to all my friends, so of course it got back to me.
The kicker was she was a really crappy trainer. Her horses were so ill-behaved that she literally chained one gelding to the tie rail to get him to stand. Yes, two stud chains to sort of cross tie him to the rail. So safe and so reflective of her wonderful training methods.
One day her gelding was chained to the rail and my mare was tied to the other end. I don't usually tie when I'm standing right there. Looping the rope over the rail is as good as tied for my horse. Something happened to startle my mare (don't remember what) and she put her head up and backed a few step. Oh yeah, she's sure wild and uncontrollable. The trainer sniffed and snootily told me "another reason I hate Appys, they don't tie!" WTF!?!? I'd had enough of her BS, so I told her, "Actually my horse ties so well I don't need to tie her while you have to chain your horse to the tie rail. Fuck you, you stupid bitch."
That was the end of the smack-talking, and I was only sorry I hadn't told her off sooner.
