So, this is happening. Sometime in the next 90 days, I will be loading up my possessions (which don't amount to much) and all of my kids- two and four-legged, and heading North to Kentucky. It's a 14 hour drive if you're like me, and have a lead foot. But I will be hauling my babies along in a trailer, and therefore, it will probably take me two days.

I'll be taking I75 to I24 to I65.

Anyone know of a place in Tennesee where I could lay up overnight with the horses? I'll gladly pay a night's board on them- and it doesn't have to be fancy. A well-fenced pasture is enough- just a place to let the monsters out to stretch and relax, feed, water and check them over. And clean out the trailer and their feet. Only Scout has ever been on a long trailer ride, and I don't want them to stress over this trip, especially not my old mare.

I have four horses going with me- two mares, a gelding, and a stallion. They all turn out together. They are NOT fence busters, but Scout has a bad habit of kicking stall walls. I would set up my cot in the trailer and stay with them. (Because honestly, I wouldn't leave them alone in a strange place overnight any more than I would my human kids.)

I may be bringing Rocky as well, but it's doubtful. Without even meeting him, Patti is in love with his heart and courage, and wants to come and learn what is necessary to make him comfortable- and she may have to fight Kari for his honor, lol. For a fugly old broken TB, he is loved beyond belief. So, overnight accomodations for 4-5 horses, one of them a stallion. Anyone have any ideas?
