I agree with JackieE. Find a reputable trainer in the area. Tell him/her that you want to sell this horse. That trainer will put your horse under training, all the while finding a good fit. Of course, you have to be willing to part with some cash.

My fav deal is just telling the trainer that he or she can keep whatever the horse sells for. That way, they have interest in selling him high and *hopefully* to a good home.

Another idea: find a reputable rescue barn in your area. If they are good, they have trainers on staff. Tell them your issues and that you wish to surrender the horse. If they take your horse, give them a sizable donation.

MOST IMPORTANTLY: do not expect to make money off this horse. At this point, be ready to lose a lot of money.

And yes, be prepared to euthanize or keep him as a pasture pet if you can't bear these expenses.
