So, I went to see her and she is the sweetest old gal! She just loved to be scratched and loved on. My friend went with me and she has a 4 year old daughter named Emma and my friend just put Emma on her back (which scared me a little at first) and the old girl didn't even care. Emma sat up there and scratched her and moved around and the mare loved it. She is very pregnant and he stifle locks just about every time she takes a step. Which I am not sure if that is normal, but it seemed like a lot of locking to me. She needs her feet done, less toe and more heel. Her owner was a fairly young girl that loves her animals, but is just lacking in life experience I guess you could say. All her horses were well fed and taken care of. She was a super nice girl and seemed very honest.

Anyway, I talked to my husband about getting her when I got home this evening and I am letting him think on it a bit until morning. He really likes to think things through before we do anything, which is a good thing I guess. I think she would be a great old mare to let the nieces and nephews sit on and be led around on. She has a very cute head and neck and a big wide chest, built kinda 'bulldoggy'. I don't know what the sire looked like, but her baby might be kinda cute and will be registered quarter horse. She is definitly red dun and I guess the daddy is red roan so I don't really know what that color combo might make.

I hope we can bring her here and let her retire, not sure if she will have many years left in her, but at least we would know she is not going to the slaughter pen. She was just the nicest old girl. I will let you know what the decision is tomorrow! Thanks for all the input!
