You'd be surprised! Organic vs. nonorganic, hybrid vs. open pollinated, disagreements on when to start seeds, when to plant, what soil amendments to use, which varieties do well in what parts of the country, the flavor of certain varieties, the origins of certain varieties, diseases and infestations and what to do about them, hybridization techniques, grafting, people who claim to have discovered a new heirloom but actually stole it or renamed someone else's (this happens when you have a vegetable with thousands of known varieties), arguments over books and published articles, the list goes on and on. And then there's the off-topic arguments, which are constant and never-ending. Personality conflicts abounded like you wouldn't believe, especially when you have a few people on there who had published books and, in the eyes of many on there, walked on water and were the final word on everything.
