Moonbrain Mare...I sooo get what you said and agree with it. I often think EXACTLY the same thing. I think trying to have things too perfect is unhealthy. LOL. My horses have trees in their paddocks - bloody great huge gum trees with lots of sticky out bits. We also have a big deep creek running through the paddocks. My horses don't hurt themselves on the trees or in the creek. Why would they injure themselves on something just because it's manmade? It's a bit like with kids - if you protect them too much from germs and disease they end up sick! Immune systems need 'work outs' to be strong. And that goes for immunity to injury too. Horses that are used to negotiating obstacles like trees etc don't bat an eyelid at manmade objects. It's often the mollycodddled wrapped in cotton wool ones that hurt themselves.
