College and high school are SOOOOO different. I know four-year degrees are not for everyone - my mother included, but there are lots of options. She works full time and goes to school one class per 6-weeks. The classes are a lot for her sometimes at first, but eventually they level out and she learns a lot. She could not take time off work to go back to school and she has dyslexia, which was undiagnosed until they diagnosed my sister, so she really has trouble learning with a course. However, college is not like that. You go to a lecture 2-3 times a week, sit there an hour, and then you have to study on your own. High school was hell for me in many ways because I felt like I was learning. I was ill all of the time and the assignments just piled up. In college, I just stay home if I can and I do work from my dorm room. Professors are much more understanding - even when the class size is 200+ - than high school teachers because they treat you like ADULTS and know that you are doing this own your own.

Try to at least go to a community college and get a four year by transfer. My mother was shooting for just an associates when she started, but found out that it was hardly worth the time and effort to graduate. She decided to go with the 4-year. A 4-year diploma is becoming more and more like a high school diploma, so it is something good to have. Going to a horse-based school is great, but make sure you get a second degree.
