Not all cats bury their poop. Our barn cats are notorious for not burying it, and with outdoor cats, it's pretty much impossible for them to do in the winter anyways. We have the barn cats for a reason: rodent control. And besides, I like cats. We do have a 16 year old indoor cat, once in a while she'll slip outside and then SCREAM to come immediately back inside. She's not fat, never has been. Dogs are kept indoors, do they all get fat? No. Neither do indoor cats unless the owners ply them with naughty treats constantly.

I also think the myths about domestic cats depopulating the bird is rubbish. Jesus, we have 5 outdoor cats and 4,684,937 freaking birds. If I thought for a minute that the cats would ever have any impact on the stupid bird population around here, I'd triple the cats.
