I like how we have our rice rationed as well.
My aunts used to breed on a small scale. They specialized mostly in straight Egyptian Arabians, I remember when one of their horses sold for a large sum of money. I mean, buy a brand spankin' new 3 horse trailer with livingquarters that had a toilet/kitchen/seating area and bed kind of amount. Good golly. They stopped breeding right before all this started happening. Now they are breeding their last mare to http://sparklecreek.com/odyssey/index.html for their last foal, they're going to show a few more times and then just enjoy their horses. When they get too old to take care of them I'm going to offer to take the last of their horses to stay at my place so they don't have to part with them.
