Nag Tamer, thanks, he is a bit fat.. he had a few weeks off from a sprained ankle, and we're still working on getting totally back in shape. I really want to dye his gray so he doesn't look so old! His forehead is almost completely white. But he doesn't ever ACT old (except coming out of his stall tacked up--he has to pause in the doorway to stretch out his hind legs... never does it when I'm bringing him out to be turned out, though.. I tell him he's faking and that he is NOT old). It's funny that Wilson's back looks short to you, I've always felt like he's very long. Maybe just in comparison to Striker, who doesn't look nearly as Thoroughbred-y as Wilson.
Kizmet, you should see his eye when we're jumping... it has a devilish glee; he delights in annoying me. His feet have always been kinda yucky, but I don't think they can really be fixed. His hind shoes have been pulled, though, for the first time in probably a decade, so that's exciting. He's never had a problem, so I don't worry too too much about them. Wilson got messed up racing... he's not in pain, but he is a bit off, so the vet said just walking and jogging under saddle. He's gotten SO much better in the time we've had him (little over a year). He was lame at the walk when he came; now, on a good day, he's darn near sound at the trot. And his x-rays are looking pretty good. But he mostly just sits around looking pretty and is my pet. I do wish he was 100%, though... he's gorgeous.
Praised2, thanks
. I love my ponies, and I'd love them even if they were fugly.
Cursivenight, I'm a sucker for Thoroughbreds, too. Striker's neck does need some work, but it has improved a LOT. This is him from a year ago:
Eeek!
